Preparation of Mn~(2+)-TiO_2 Composite and Photocatalytic Degradation of P-chlorophenol

Mesoporous TiO2 doped with manganese were prepared by sol-gel method using tetrabutylorthotitanate(TBOT) as precursor and tri-block copolymer as a template. The samples were characterized by using LAXRD, XRD and TEM. The results showed that the Mn doping could inhibit the phase transformation of TiO2 and enhance the thermal stability of TiO2 structure. The degradation rate of the P-chlorophenol (the initial concentration is 60 mg/L) with oxygen ultraviolet irradiation, reaction time 3h and using 2% Mn2+-TiO2 as catalyst is up to 81.7%.
