Intra-operative observations during laparohysterotomy in small ruminants.

2015
The cost of laparohysterotomy was found to be less than that estimated for large animals. Animals which had prolonged dystocia showed rupture of uterus and post maturity changes of the placenta. Animals in which rolling was done to relieve torsion, showed utero-omental ecchymosis. Avascular necrosis, meconial contamination of dam’s abdomen, intra-abdominal hemorrhages etc were the other findings. Posterior presentation was found to be associated with only 1.39% of the total cases (n=72).
