Mechanism of nasal absorption of drugs.

In recent years, nasal absorption has received a great deal of attention as a convenient and reliable method for the administration of certain drugs. Although this route is currently being used for the systemic administration of drugs, such as Oxytocin and DDAVP, it has only recently been quantitatively studied. This chapter will deal with the importance of the physical and chemical properties of drugs on the rate and extent of their nasal absorption.
