Chuck for radial clamping of workpieces with a cylindrical outer clamping surface

2008
A chuck (1) for radial clamping of workpieces having a cylindrical outer clamping surface, comprises an annular base body (2) having a bore (5), a radially inwardly extending shoulder (11) which forms an abutment surface for the workpiece having an axially extending bore surface (10) and radially inwardly projecting lugs (12). On the basic body (2) is arranged a clamping body which is divided into a plurality of substantially L-shaped clamping elements (21) radially each having a disposed in the bore of the clamping head (24) and a from the clamping head (24) according to have outwardly extending actuating lever (27). Each clamping head (24) has on the outside at least one radially outwardly projecting cam (25) which engages in a gap between the shoulder (11) and the lugs (12) and radially against the bore surface (10) and axially on at least supporting a nose (12). On the inside have the clamping heads each have a clamping edge (26) which is arranged so that they on rotation of the tensioning elements (21), wherein the actuating lever (27) of the base body (2) away, radially inwardly and axially in the direction of the shoulder (11) is moved.
