Two cases of carcinoma in pleomorphic adenoma

1999
Two cases of carcinoma in pleomorphic adenoma are reported. Both patients were 82-year-old women. One had swelling of the right part of the upper lip, and the other had swelling of the left side of the palate. Biopsies were performed, and both lesions were suggested to be carcinoma in pleomorphic adenoma on histopathological examination. Under general anesthesia, the tumors, including the surrounding normal tissue, were excised. The histopathological diagnoses were carcinoma in pleomorphic adenoma. There has been no evidence of tumor recurrence or metastasis after operation.
