Analysis on intelligence quotient of students with learning disabilities in the psychological consultation clinic of a general hospital.

2010
Objective To explore the characteristics of intelligence quotient(IQ)of students with learning disabilities. Methods A total of 115 students were selected from the psychological consultation clinic of a general hospital. All the participants were tested with revised chart of Wechsler Child Intelligence Scale or Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale. Results The average scores of full intelligence quotient(FIQ) of the 115 students were(96.21±14.02).47.88% of the students had scores of ︱PIQ-VIQ︱at least 15 and 46.09% of IQ scores were within a normal range for the participants. The scores of full and perceptual organization(IQ) of the boys were significant higher than those of the girls(P0.05).The scores of perceptual organization IQ of adolescents were significant higher than those of students at school ages(P0.05).Conclusion The scores of FIQ were within the normal range for the students with learning disabilities in psychological clinic of the general hospital. The development of PIQ and VIQ were also balanced. However, there were differences in intelligence structure development by gender and age.Pertinent strategy of treatment and education should be developed specifically for students with learning disabilities.
