Effects of Pressure Drop and Filter Medium on the Collection Performance of Bag Filter

The effect of filtration velocity u and pressure drop ΔP' on the collection efficiency of atmospheric dust DP (av.=0.4μm, 0.75μm, 2.0μm, 4.0μm) were examined for three kinds of dust in a bag filter. Collection efficiency η of polyester felt (600 g/m2) was able to be correlated with parameters ΔP'/u and dust diameter DP irrespective to the kind of dust and filtration velocity u by the following equation.η=1−exp(−1.36Dp2/3(ΔP'/u)6/5)In addition, the collection efficiency η of four kinds of filter with different fiber diameter Dc was able to be correlated with parameters ΔP'/uδ and dust diameter DP by the following function form.η=1−exp(−ADpα(ΔP'/u)βu-γ)
