Chemical constituents of the roots of Rheum officinale

A new natural product, 10S-3-methyl-1,8,10-trihydroxy-10-β-D-glucopyranosyl-9(10H)-anthracenone (1) and eight known compounds were isolated from the roots of Rheum officinale for the first time. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic methods.
