Drive device for a vehicle with a retarder

PURPOSE:To constantly secure good electrical and magnetic characteristics of an electrically-operated inductor disposed in proximity to the wet clutch of a vehicle driving system by shielding the inductor with precision from oil coming from the clutch. CONSTITUTION:A flywheel 8 is connected to the crankshaft 5 of an engine 1 via a connecting shaft 6 within hermetically sealed flywheel housing 2, 3 and a wet clutch 20 equipped with an oil circulating device 35 is mounted to the flywheel 8 and a partition wall 15 is sealed to the outside of the flywheel 8 to form an inductor storage room 17 on the side of the connecting shaft and an inductor 51 is mounted in the inductor storage room 17. Oil fed to the wet clutch 20 and splashing is completely blocked by the flywheel 8 and the partition wall 15 so as to always keep the inductor storage room 17 in the dry state and thus the inductor 51 is constantly held in its electrically and magnetically normal operating state without being affected by the oil or the like at all.
