Heat exchanger for automobile and fabricating method thereof

2006
A heat exchanger for an automobile and a fabricating method thereof are provided to prepare header pipes using a plate material interposed with a clad sheet, thereby eliminating the needs of joining a header and a pipe and preventing separation of the clad sheet during transportation. A heat exchanger for an automobile includes upper and lower header pipe parts(3,6) formed of a plate material interposed with a clad sheet. The header pipe part consists of a pair of header pipes, each of which is formed by integrating a header and a tank and has a flat surface at a side in the length direction for surface-joining. The upper header pipe part has the first header pipe(1) introducing heat exchange fluid(90), the second header pipe(2) for discharging the heat exchange fluid, inlet/outlet end caps(21) coupled at one ends of the first and the second header pipes, forming an inlet and an outlet for the heat exchange fluid respectively, end caps(22) coupled at the other ends of the first and the second header pipes for tightly assembling the first and the second header pipes, a control separator(32) interposed in insertion grooves(40) in the middle of the first and the second header pipes for controlling flow direction of the heat exchange fluid, and a plurality of connection elements(41) in the same shape and same number at opposite positions between the first and the second header pipes for communication of the heat exchange fluid. The lower header pipe part has the third header pipe(3) moving the heat exchange fluid in one direction, the fourth header pipe(4) moving the heat exchange fluid in the opposite direction, and a pair of end caps coupled at both ends of the third and the fourth header pipes for controlling flow of the heat exchange fluid and tightly assembling the third and the fourth header pipes.
