Desarrollo de perfiles térmicos en pilas aéreas para carbonización de estípite de palma de aceite

2009
This paper presents the methodology developed for the lifting of the profiles surface temperature as both an internal for stack aerial carbonization of oil palm trunk, where the surface profiles show temperatures of about 40 and 60° C. As the internal profiles indicate temperatures around 500° C; these temperatures are suitable for thermochemical treatment of biomass. Similarly, the system of aerial stacks to carbonization presented a total time of operation ranged from 4 to 5 days after the ignition, which allowed the measurements during the first three days of operation of the aerial stack, where the profile internal temperatures corresponds to the evaluated in the angular direction from the measurement of temperature at six equidistant points forming a hexagonal base of the stack. For these measurements, we used thermocouples type "K" and a pyrometer to measure surface and internal temperatures, respectively. In the process of carbonization was obtained in a yield of biomass conversion to biochar of about 49% (dry basis), from oil palm trunk with moisture of 59.4%, reaching temperatures in the pyrolysis-carbonization range of 500-600° C and a mass of charred "Biochar" with humidity of 5%.
