Investigation on the Grading Method of Pulmonary Function of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome

Objective To investigate the grading method and standard of pulmonary function of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome.Methods Firstly,the questionnaire investigation was carried out on 1163 patients with respiratory diseases,including chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD),bronchial asthma,interstitial lung disease,upper respiratory tract infection,cough after cold,chronic bronchitis,bronchiectasis,allergic rhinitis,chronic pulmonary heart disease in remission,chronic laryngitis,sleep apnea syndrome,lung cancer,and pneumoconiosis.Secondly,317 of them,who were with Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome,were graduated according to the pulmonary function examination.Finally,the graduation with symptom scores on every grade of pulmonary function was applied.The results of the pulmonary function graduate and the symptom score graduate were compared.Results Of the pulmonary function graduation,there were 131 patients in mild grade of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome,109 in medium grade,and 77 in severe grade.Of the symptom score grading,in the mild grade of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome,there were 123 patients in mild grade,8 in medium grade,and one in severe grade;In the medium grade of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome,there were 101 patients in medium grade,5 in mild grade,and 3 patients in severe grade;In the severe grade of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome,there were 70 patients in severe grade,7 in medium grade,and one in mild grade.The results of the two graduate methods showed no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion The result of pulmonary function grading and symptom grading of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome was uniform,indicating that pulmonary fucntion grading may be as reference index for diagnosis of Lung Qi Deficiency Syndrome.
