"Pintando a cara" no Maranatha de Naviraí - MS: interação dialógica entre universidade e sociedade

The fishing public policy in Brazil walk slowly towards development. Each period had its own solution that repeatedly proved wrong and exclusive on the point of view of key stakeholders - fishermen. The scales were collected in the community in order to hold training workshops on production of handicrafts using scales. The material was washed in running water, followed by filtration and drying for making flowers called-parts basis. The fish waste processing technique is an alternative to reduce the negative impact caused by the disposal of such material in garbage dumps, landfills, ponds margins and unsuitable environments. The scales were evaluated as high quality and durability product, contributing to the generation of income and equity of the communities involved, strengthening small-scale fisheries.
