Nonenzymatic enantioselective acylation of racemic secondary alcohols catalyzed by a SnX2-chiral diamine complex

Abstract Kinetic resolution of racemic secondary alcohols has been achieved by the reaction with benzoyl halide in the presence of a SnX 2 -chiral diamine complex to afford the corresponding benzoate in good to excellent enantioselectivities.
