Fauna ciliada do rumen de zebuinos e bubalinos em Pirassununga, Sao Paulo, Sudeste do Brasil

The aim of this experiment was to detect genus and species of ruminal ciliates in 4 Nelore bovines e 4 Mediterranean buffaloes, canulated and with 530 kg of average weight. The feeding was composed of coast-cross grass hay (65%) and concentrated meal (20% corn meal and 15% cotton meal), and mineral salt, making a diet with 9.9% PB, 88.8% MS and 2.4 Mcal/kg ED, that was given at 8 am and 4 pm. Nelore showed higher ciliate average total concentration (83.68x10 4 ml -1 ; p 4 ml -1 ), in which was seen a total number of 12 genus e 44 species, while Nelore showed 11 genus e 38 species. Prevailing of Entodinium over the total ciliated was 73.77% for bovines and 57.03% for buffaloes.
