Analysis on 452 Rescue Cases of Critically Ill Pregnant Women in Beijing

Objective To explore the etiology,distribution of gestational age,hospital and transferring treatment of maternal emergency rescue in Beijing,and to provide aguidance to improve the success rate of maternal rescuing and reduce the maternal mortality.Methods The medical records of critically ill pregnant women who received successful rescue from January 1st,2007 to September 30th,2008 in Beijing were retrospectively investigated.Results The most common etiology of maternal emergency rescue in Beijing was obstetric hemorrhage(45.1%),the second was pregnancy induced hypertension(29.9%),and the third was amniotic fluid embolism and pregnancy complicated cardio-vascular diseases(4.6%).The most common gestational age of maternal rescue was 37~41 weeks of gestational age(45.2%),followed by 28~36 weeks of gestational age(41.6%)and ≤12 weeks of gestational age(0.2%).The main sites of maternal rescue were the third-class general hospitals(52.2%)and the second-class general hospitals(34.3%),maternal and child hospitals only accounted for 13.1%.24.1% of the cases had transferring treatments,the most common etiology of transferring treatment was pregnancy induced hypertension(48.6%),followed by obstetric hemorrhage(30.3%).Conclusions Attaching importance to obstetric hemorrhage,enhancing health care management of floating pregnant women,and exerting the advantages of comprehensive hospitals play the important roles in improving the success rate of maternal rescuing.
