Decontamination effectiveness and its impact on occupational exposure reduction. [PERCS]

1982
This paper describes a computer code being developed to quantitively estimate the radiation exposures from decontamination tasks and the radiation exposure savings from these efforts. This code is named PERCS for personnel exposure from right cylindrical sources. The program will calculate the dose from any number of designated, distributed cylindrical sources for any number of dose points, allowing any configuration of cylindrical or rectangular slab shields. For the geometry encountered in decontamination work, PERCS offers many improvements over current point kernel shielding codes such as ISOSHLD or Monte Carlo codes such as MORSE.
