Effects of apatinib on advanced gastric cancer

Objective To analyze the clinical effects of apatinib on patients with advanced gastric cancer. Methods Forty-five patients with advanced gastric cancer diagnosed in Heji Hospital Affiliated to Changzhi Medical College from December 2016 to December 2018 were randomly divided into two groups by double blind method. Twenty-three patients in the control group received conventional chemotherapy, and 22 patients in the observation group were treated with apatinib on the basis of routine treatment. The treatment effects and occurrence of related complications were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate was 90.1%(20/22) in the observation group, and 60.8%(14/23) in the control group, while the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusions For patients with advanced gastric cancer, chemotherapy combined with apatinib can effectively alleviate the symptoms, inhibit tumor growth, however, it would not increase the incidence of complication too much, which is suitable for clinical promotion and application.
