Multi-energy Power Planning for the Sending-end of Hybrid Multi-terminal HVDC System

2020
Hybrid multi-terminal HVDC(HMTDC) technology can combine the technical advantages of line commutated converter based HVDC and voltage source converter based HVDC, and solve the problem of large-scale transmission of renewable energy with multiple power sources or multiple drop points. In this paper, two power exchange modes of multi-terminal converter stations and sending-end power grid are proposed for radiant HMTDC system. On this basis, the multi-energy power layout method of sending-end is proposed, and a multienergy power planning mathematical model is established. The objective function considers the minimum sum of the power investment cost, line investment cost, thermal power operation cost, and penalty cost of abandoning renewable energy. The results of numerical examples verify the effectiveness of the model and method described in this paper.
