A digital circuit for instant controlled switching

Abstract A solid-state electronic circuit for controlling the switching instant of an AC power is designed, fabricated and tested. The switching instant is determined in terms of the high-frequency pulses counted from the instant of zero cross-over. The scheme is useful for numerous purposes, for example, elimination of switching transients in AC circuits and machines and study of partial discharge in overhead insulators
