Desktop navigation system and method

The invention discloses a desktop navigation system operated in an electronic device. The system comprises an obtaining module for obtaining icons needing to be displayed on the desktop of the electronic device; a classifying module for classifying the icons into multiple types; a displaying module for displaying the icons on the desktop according to the classified types; a generation module for generating a navigation window at the upper side of the desktop, wherein all classified types are displayed in the navigation window, and the layout of the types in the navigation window and the layout of the types on the desktop are consistent; and a first operation module for receiving the operations of a user in the navigation window and correspondingly operating the icons on the desktop according to the operations of the user in the navigation window. The invention also provides a desktop navigation method. According to the method and the system provided by the invention, the user can view the icons on the desktop conveniently.
