During the drilling process there arises a need to remove plugging solid particles from the bottomhole zones, thus improving permeability of the productive formation. There also arises a need to isolate water-bearing formations. To do that a low-water-permeability barrier has to be created. This can be made by using wave technologies developed in The Scientific Center of Nonlinear Wave Mechanics and Technologies of Russian Academy of Sciences. The idea of such technologies is transforming ofthe wave and vibration motion of liquids with suspended particles to the unidirectional, monotonous motion. During most processes of effective recovering of residual oil reserves such kind of motions are needed to be executed. For example, for cleaning the bottomhole zone of production wells with positive skin-effect an unidirectional motion of solid particles plugging the formation and removing them from this formation are required. This will improve reservoir properties and stimulate hydrocarbon influx to the well.On the other hand, for isolating a water-bearing formation in some cases it’s necessary to create a low-water-permeability barrier. To do that it’s required to make particles isolating water channels move to certain formation zones. This article considers these wave technologies in relation to an oil formation. The described wave technologiesproved advantageous compared to conventional methods of the field development.
