Determinantes do crime contra a pessoa nos municípios mineiros

Currently, criminality emerges as one of the main challenges to be faced by society and public administration managers. In this context, this study sought to determine if the socioeconomic, demographic and infrastructural conditions influence the level of criminality against the assets and against the person in the municipalities of Minas Gerais, considering the period from 2005 to 2013. The results show that the analyzed indicators contribute to simultaneously explain the crimes against the person and crimes against the patrimony, revealing the importance of the implementation of public policies of education, health, employment and income, security and social assistance. Faced with the evidence found in this research, it reinforces the premise of criminality as a complex theme and it is concluded that although some indicators behave divergent mode in relation to the types of crimes under analysis, demographic, social, economic and infrastructural conditions may influence the level of crime in the municipalities of Minas Gerais, which reveals the need to establish a better management of these conditioning on the part of the public policy managers
