The present invention relates by way of example to a matrix substrate, a control method, a display panel, and a display device. The matrix substrate comprises: m rows and n columns of subpixels, m and n being positive integers; a plurality of grid lines, when i <(m + 1) / 2, the i-th grid line is connected to subpixels of the (2i-1) th and 2nd rows, and if m is a an odd number, when i = (m +1) / 2, the ith grid line is connected to sub-pixels of the mth row, i being a positive integer less than or equal to (m +1) / 2; and a plurality of data lines, each sub-pixel column corresponding to two data lines, and the two data lines comprising a first data line and a second data line, the first data line being connected to sub-data lines. -pixels in the column that are located in rows of odd numbers, and the second line of data being connected to subpixels in the column that are located in even-numbered rows.
