[Considerations relative to data on deaths in PNAD-78].

Data on mortality from the National Household Survey (PNAD) of 1978 for Brazil are presented in tabular form by month region and sex. Comparisons are also made with vital statistics data U.N. data for other countries and probability of death data calculated by indirect methods. Problems concerning the mortality data in the 1978 survey are identified and discussed. (ANNOTATION)
