Wide Swath SAR System Design and Quality Analysis Based on Orthogonal Noise Waveforms

2019
Future spaceborne SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) missions demand high resolution image acquisitions over wide swath regions. Extending swath width through conventional SAR modes inevitably cause ambiguity problems in both azimuth and range directions and lead to image quality degradation. In this paper, multiple noise waveforms are implemented based on orthogonal frequency division for application to multiple swath SAR operation. We show that the proposed algorithm extends swath width while ambiguity interferences are effectively suppressed.
