Analisis Karakteristik Angin Zonal - Meridional Selama Radiosonda Campaign Di Kototabang
2011
Research on zonal (west-east wind component) or meridional wind (north-south wind component) very important to understand one of atmosphere phenomenon which has a role on regional or global weather prediction. The object of this study is to find out the characteristic of wind (zonal and meridional). This study was analyzed the condition of zonal and meridional wind based on radiosonde data launched on December 2010 and wind data from EAR at Kototabang (0.20°S, 100.32°E). From the results show that the dynamic of zonal wind more specific compared with meridional, there are significant alteration directions at about 17 km. From the surface up to 5 km are occur the westerly with windspeed 5-15 m/sec, and then there are easterly winds with average windspeed 40 m/sec reach the altitude about 16 km. After that they move to the west with windspeed 10 m/sec up to 25 km with high intensity. On meridional wind from 3-7 December there are wind from north direction with windspeed 3 m/sec up to 5 km, then the wind often change direction to north-south with windspeed 2-7 m/sec reach the altitude 15 km. On 7-19 December from the surface up to 5 km, there is wind from south with windspeed 4 m/sec, after that more often change direction to north-south with higher windspeed about 4-10 m/sec up to 25 km.
