Conclusion and Future Aspects
2015
The main objectives of this work were (i) maximized power extraction from electromagnetic transducers at realistic non-sinusoidal excitation scenarios, (ii) efficient harvesting over a wide power and voltage range, (iii) supply of a self-sufficient application at a wide supply range, (iv) scaling and programming of the interfaces so as to use them for different transducers as needed for application specific arrangements. Altogether, a novel tracking principle suitable for efficient low-power and continuous MPP tracking has been introduced. Several methods for low-power implementation of the switch-mode converters and the charge pump have been developed, and all circuit blocks are revised on a transistor-level. Different and complementary interface principles have been successfully realized as chip prototypes. The developed concepts, circuits and architectures, design rules, and provided discussions on limitations allow a high degree of design re-use and scaling.
