IgG lambda multiple myeloma and diffuse necrobiotic xanthogranuloma association: a case report*

1997
Necrobiotic xanthogranuloma is a rare, generalized dermatosis occurring in association with paraproteinaemia. We report on the clinical, histological, immunohistochemical and electron microscopic findings in a 70-year-old woman affected by IgG gammopathy with lambda type immunoglobulins, hyperviscosity syndrome and necrobiotic xanthogranuloma. The rarity of the association of the systemic disorders reported, together with the noticeable extension of the skin lesions observed, are highlighted.
