Progress in Research on Strengthening of Platinum Materials

The paper introduces progress in strengthening research and several major methods for strengthening platinum materials. The mechanisms, features and short comings of some strengthening methods such as solid solution strengthening,grain size strengthening,strain hardening(a- k. a. cold work hardening)and dispersion strengthening are briefly discussed. Based on a review of the current status of strengthening R D in China and the tendency of platinum group metals'price, future directions of research on strengthening of platinum materials are suggested.
