Enhanced Isolation of Fuze Antenna in X-Ku Band Composite Antenna Array Based on Mu-negative Metamaterial

In this work, a novel mu-negative (MNG) metamaterial element is proposed to enhance the isolation between Ku band fuze antennas in X-Ku composite antenna array. The isolation with presented metamaterial is improved more than 15dB during the operation band comparing with the antennas without MNG metamaterial. In addition, the scale of the designed metamaterial element is less than λ/10 due to the new design method.
