2011
We report a case of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia presenting with splenic infarction in an 18 year old male patient. The patient presented to us with the complaint of abdominal pain in the left upper quadrant and massive splenomegaly. The diagnosis was confirmed with several biochemical investigations, bone marrow studies and cytogenetic analysis. CML is usually a disease of middle-age and only rarely presents in patients <20. Splenic infarction is also a very rare presenting feature of the disease.
