Analysis of vertical seismic effects for large-scale aqueduct bridges

With the aid of the Ansys code,the vertical seismic effects of three kinds of aqueduct bridges were analyzed with time-history and response-spectrum methods.The displacement-based finite element of fluid is applied to the analysis,and the fluid-structure interaction on interface is considered.The computational result has a good precision that satisfies the need of practical engineering.The method of this paper can also be directly used in the analysis of horizontal seismic effects.For the grade 7 of earthquake intensity,the vertical seismic effects are suggested to be considered in the structural designs.
