Synthesis and Properties of Novel Organosoluble Copoly(aryl ether ketone) Containing Disubstituted Phthalazione Moiety

A novel bisphenol-like monomer, 4-(3,5-diisopropyl-4-hydroxylphenyl)-2,3-phthalazine-l-tone(35DP-DHPZ) was successfully synthesized and used to prepare a series of copoly(aryl ether ketone) (PAEK) by the nucelophilic displacement reaction with resorcinol and 4,4′-diflourodiphenylketone. The structures of the monomer and copolymers were confirmed by FT-IR, NMR and EA, and the properties of these polymers were also studied by FT-IR, DSC, TGA, WXRD, etc. It was found these PAEKS show high temperature stability that the 5% and 10% weight loss temperatures were in the range of 440-493℃ and 452-525℃ and their glass transition temperatures in the range of 126-263℃. These polymers have good solubility in some polar aprotic solvents such as NMP, DMAc, CHCl3, etc, which is important advantage to process them for practical applications.
