Design and Implementation of Optical Fiber Detecting System for Oil Tank Measurement

A new liquid-level and temperature measuring system by the optical fiber sensing technology was introduced.The system measured the liquid level by using the principle of force balance,and measured temperature by which optical properties changed with temperature.It captured and transmitted optical signals by means of the fiber-optic sensors.It could carry out multipoint,more parameters(including liquid level,temperature,oil-water interface etc.) measurement for oil tanks group,which was high precision,digital and on-line for long-distance transmission.It was proved that every specification of the system met the demands of its users and its performance was reliable.The application of this system changed the problem,which readings recorded manually was low efficiency and great error,and then implementing automation management and remote control was impossible.
