Comparison of performance indicators in Shahid Mohammadi Hospital with national standards

Aim: The provision of statistics according to the type of specialized activities to monitor the services provided in different parts of the hospital is important. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the functional indicators of hospital admissions in the Shahid Mohammadi Hospital of Bandar Abbas in 2018. Methods: This study is a descriptive cross-sectional study that was carried out using data from the statistical center of the Shahid Mohammadi Hospital in Bandar Abbas in 2018. Selected indicators including bed occupancy rate, bed turnover rate, mean length of hospitalization and active/fixed bed ratio, were collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, deviation criterion, and percentage) and Excel 2010 and Spss 16 software. Results: In the present study, bed occupancy rate was 18.19-bed turnover rate was 0.88 days, mean length of hospitalization was 68.6 days, and active/fixed bed ratio was 6.2%. Most days of admission are in the ICU section and the lowest is the postal coat. The mortality rate is highest in the internal ICU in the neurology and is minimal in the eye surgery section. Conclusion: Given the fact that the performance of healthcare organizations is directly related to human life, the findings of this study can be helpful in healthcare policy and effective use of hospital beds.
