OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY DESCRIPTION FOR THE NMCS AUTOMATED INPUT PROCESSING SYSTEM (NAIPS)

Abstract : Present methods of examining the transcribing formatted messages received in J-3 require large numbers of trained personnel and may result in unacceptable delay in updating data bases to reflect the information received. The report presents an OCD for a man-machine system designed to alleviate these problems by automating the routine activities associated with input processing within an environment which provides for the full exercise of human judgment.
