Выбор методики остеосинтеза при метастатическом поражении костей конечностей

The article reported the choice of osteosynthesis techniques in patients with metastatic lesions of limb bones. Osteosynthesis of bones in metastatic lesions has been carried out in 63 patients (in 31 patients using external fixation devices by Kostiuk and 32 patients with the use of reinforced osteosynthesis). As a result of surgical treatment, complications were found in 1 patient, tumor recurrence in 3. After the surgery, we marked pain reduction at the site of metastatic lesions, functional outcome of the operated limb improved and therefore quality of life in patients improved as well. Based on treatment outcomes, we have found that, when choosing methods for osteosynthesis in metastatic lesions of limb bones, it is necessary to take into account the following factors: localization of tumors in the bone, the length of the process, histologic variant of the primary tumor, the degree of its malignancy, fracture age, sensitivity to specific therapy.
