Frugivory by the hummingbird Chlorostilbon notatus (Apodiformes: Trochilidae) in the Brazilian Amazon

Hummingbirds rely solely on nectar as the main source of energy to supply their high physiological demands. Exceptions to their nectarivorous diet are few. The present work describes for the first time the consumption of fruit by hummingbirds.
