Morphology engineering of MoS2 nanostructures by controlling MoO3−x concentration using a quasi-closed crucible

2018
Abstract Herein, we present a novel method to investigate morphological revolutions of MoS 2 nanostructures prepared in ARCVD system. The results indicate that the shapes of MoS 2 domains vary from rhomboids to nanorods and monolayer triangular shapes due to the establishment of concentration gradient of MoO 3− x precursors. The formations of rhomboids and nanorods with Mo 4 O 11 component are related to an indigent S atmosphere in the reduction process of the MoO 3−x , while the monolayer MoS 2 domains are attributed to the change of MoO 3− x concentration based on the sulfurization mechanism of MoO 3 .
