A fast scintillator module with uniform response

Abstract A scintillator module with an active area of 35 × 35 cm 2 and with an air light guide to a phototube located 40 cm behind the scintillator is described. The time jitter across the active area is ±0.1 ns and the time resolution 0.5 ns. The variation in amplitude over the active surface is ±7%.
