Estimate of the fraction of fat using ultrasound from a shear wave propagation

A fat fraction is estimated (40) from a shear wave propagation. An acoustic radiation force is used to generate a shear wave in a tissue of interest. The attenuation, the center frequency, bandwidth or other characteristics not of shear wave velocity is calculated (34) and used to estimate (40) the fat fraction.
