The invention discloses a short message and telephone follow-up system for a hospital. On the basis of network cooperation of a follow-up terminal, a follow-up server, and a call center server, the follow-up business can be completed. The follow-up client or the follow-up server includes a common follow-up engine, a specialized follow-up engine, and a first synchronization module; and the follow-up server consists of a short message follow-up module, a telephone follow-up module, a second synchronization module, a follow-up question database, an electronic medical record database, a common follow-up database, and a specialized follow-up database. The follow-up management module establishes an independent process and communication tool locally and triggers a follow-up event by a network protocol; the common follow-up engine or the specialized follow-up engine obtains data from the electronic medical record database and the follow-up question database to generate a follow-up task table; and synchronization of the task table to the common follow-up database or the specialized follow-up database for storage is realized by the first synchronization module.
