Judd–Ofelt analysis of Er3+ ions in calcium lithium niobium gallium garnet

Abstract The Judd–Ofelt parameters of Er 3+ in the partially disordered calcium lithium niobium gallium garnet are calculated using absorption spectra. The results ( Ω 2 = 5.58 × 10 − 20 cm 2 ; Ω 4 = 1.21 × 10 − 20 cm 2 ; Ω 6 = 0.92 × 10 − 20 cm 2 ) are used to calculate the radiative lifetimes of the Er 3+ energy levels up to 4 G 11/2 and the branching ratios of the radiative transitions originating on them. The luminescence lifetimes of Er 3+ excited levels 4 I 13/2 , 4 I 11/2 , 4 F 9/2 , ( 4 S 3/2 , 2 H2 11/2 ) and 2 H2 9/2 are also presented.
