New instrument for circular dichroism measurements in the vacuum ultraviolet

A new instrument is described for measurements of circular dichrosim (CD) in the vacuum ultraviolet region. A reflecting biotite plate is used as a linear polarizer and enables us to extend the CD measurements to about 1300A. The CD spectra of d‐camphor and of 3‐methyl cyclopentene are presented.
