Uprated LM6000s repower Belgian plants

Two coal fired power stations in Belgium - Langerlo and Ruien - are currently being repowered and will use GE's uprated LM6000 PD aeroderivative gas turbines. The conversion of these plants, which will use Dry Low Emissions (DLE) equipped gas turbines, is expected to increase power by about 25 per cent, improve overall efficiency by two per cent and decrease emissions by 20 per cent at each facility. These repowerings were developed by Brussels-based Tractebel Energy Engineering for the private utility, Electrabel.
