Total laparoscopic reversal after open Hartmann's procedure for Hinchey III diverticulitis - an annotated video vignette.

2021
Hartmann's procedure (HP) remains a common treatment approach for patients with Hinchey III-IV left-side colon diverticulitis [1-2]. Nevertheless, restoration of bowel continuity is not only patients' desire for improved quality of life but a major goal for colorectal surgeons. Laparoscopic reversal of HP (LRHP) has shown substantial advantages over classic open approach [3]. Due to differences of peritoneal adhesion and condition of the proximal and distal bowel, surgeons may provide various surgical techniques based on their own experience. In Video S1, we present an annotated LRHP which is demonstrated in a stepwise manner.
