On the Interaction Between Metacognition and English Reading Comprehension

Metacognition is the cognition of the cognitive activity from the cognitive subjective himself,which is classified into metacognition knowledge,metacognition experience and metacognition monitoring.The present paper suggests that there exists a close link between the metacognition competence and English reading comprehension,interacting each other,that is,the higher of the metacognition competence the student has,the higher of the English reading comprehension he has commonly.The instructor should try his best to train the metacognition competence of the students: to enrich their metacognition knowledge,to strengthen their metacognition experience and to broaden their metacognition monitoring as a whole of exercising and improving the students' English reading comprehension.
