Corn stalk material for making paper

2012
The invention relates to corn stalk, and in particular relates to corn stalk material for making paper. The corn stalk material is prepared from the corn stalk at the growing stage when the leaves of the entire corn stalk turn yellow and 70%-100% of the stems of the straws turn yellow. The corn stalk material contains 16%-45% of water and comprises the main ingredients of, by weight percent in dry weight: 50-59% of cellulose, 15-20% of hemicellulose, 11-17.5% of lignin and 1.5-17% of water-soluble sugar; and preferentially, the cellulose accounts for 51-58%, the hemicellulose accounts for 16-19%, the lignin accounts for 12-18.5%, and the water-soluble sugar accounts for 3-14%. The corn stalk material disclosed by the invention is higher in fiber content and lower in content of soluble sugar, so that the possibility of mouldiness and fermentation is further reduced, thereby being more favorable for the storage and transportation, and more adaptable to the industrial needs in papermaking.
