Absolute quantum efficiency of the luminescence of Cr3+ ions in gadolinium gallium and gadolinium scandium gallium garnet crystals
1982
Measurements were made of the absolute quantum efficiency of the luminescence of Cr3+ ions due to transitions from the 4T2 state in gadolinium gallium (GdGaG) and gadolinium scandium gallium (GdScGaG) garnet crystals. The quantum efficiency of the luminescence of the Cr3+ ions in the 4T2 state in GdGaG and GdScGaG crystals was close to unity at least up to chromium ion concentrations of 3×1020 cm−3.
